A joint venture between polyester manufacturer Teijin Ltd and the Japanese unit of EI DuPont de Nemours & Co is to be dissolved after seven years, it was announced on Tuesday. The pair said yarn-maker Teijin DuPont Nylon Ltd, based near Hiroshima, will be shut as a result of the recent slump in demand for nylon fibre in Japan. Its manufacturing base was in Mihara, just east of Hiroshima.
