Portuguese textile and clothing exports slipped 3.7 per cent year-on-year to 4.88 billion euros ($5.28bn) in 2002, figures from the Portuguese Centre for Applied Textile Studies revealed Tuesday.

Data showed textile exports fell 3.6 per cent year-on-year and apparel exports 3.8 per cent year-on-year while textile imports fell 8.1 per cent from 2001 and clothing imports rose 8.2 per cent.
