Textile exports from Pakistan have surged 15.74 per cent year-on-year for the first eight months of fiscal 2003-04, the country's Federal Bureau of Statistics has revealed.

According to provisional external trade figures, exports from the sector stood at US$5.14 billion for the eight-month period, accounting for 35.03 per cent of total exports from Pakistan within the timeframe.

This represented a rise of 2.67 per cent year-on-year in the textile sector's share of overall exports from the country.
