New promotional plans submitted by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association outline the new growth strategy being developed by the country for 2004.

The plans submitted to the Ministry of Trade highlight a number of key projects. These include setting up a Vietnamese training centre for industry personnel; implementing the second phase of a web portal dedicated to clothing exports; and researching new African markets while re-evaluating current ones in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Last year's trade strategy focused on boosting exports to the American market.
