A scheme to help Fiji's clothing industry will be one of the subjects discussed during meetings in South Australia this week.

Australian foreign minister Alexander Downer and Fiji's foreign affairs and external trade minister Kaliopate Tavola are expected to have follow up talks on SPARTECA, the South Pacific Regional Trade and Economic Co-operation Agreement.

The trade agreement, which provides Fijian textiles, clothing and footwear with duty-free access to Australia, was extended for seven-years earlier this month.

"The warm relationship between our two countries is reflected in the wide range of issues on the agenda - from political, security and industry matters to development cooperation and regional reform," Mr Downer said in a statement.
