Taking a look at the week ahead for the footwear and apparel industry, here is news editor Joe Ayling's snapshot of just-style's latest news and insights agenda.
This week's major news so far is that Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Tommy Hilfiger for EUR2.2bn ($3.0bn). Further analyisis will follow on just-style today (15 March).
In addition, sporting goods firm Nike reports its third quarter results this week, having witnessed declines in both revenues and earnings during the second quarter.
At the end of the last quarter Nike pointed out that future orders were strong though, and expected Q3 performance to be stronger.
The company continues to stand by brand ambassador and golf star Tiger Woods, who earlier this year admitted being unfaithful to his wife amid a media frenzy.
Close rival Adidas Group this month posted a fourth quarter earnings and sales decline citing the difficult trading environment. Both Nike and Adidas will now turn their attention to promotional activity ahead of this summer's FIFA World Cup.
Another breaking development today is French Connection's decision to close loss making operations internationally and sell its Nicole Farhi brand as part of a strategic review.
Meanwhile, look out for a series of dispatches this week from just-style editor Leonie Barrie's recent visit to Macedonia.
