Taking a look at the week ahead for the footwear and apparel industry, here is news editor Joe Ayling's snapshot of just-style's latest news and insights agenda.

This week will see Timberland, Jones Apparel and PPR Group reveal their first quarter results.

Timberland reported in January that FY net income rose 26% despite revenues being relatively flat. Last quarter Timberland's North America revenue fell 6.5% to $215.7m, while Europe revenue increased 17.1% to $128.4m and Asia revenue fell 13.4% to $43.6m.

Therefore, the outdoor clothing firm will be hoping for a sales rebound domestically, and has focused efforts on Outdoor, Earthkeepers and Classics categories.

Jones Apparel, meanwhile, was staring at an, albeit narrowed, loss for the full-year period 2009. It will look to steady the ship in Q1 though, after shuttering a number of stores recently and seeing fourth quarter sales drop 8.2% to $777m.

French luxury goods group PPR posted a full-year profit of EUR985m (US$1.34bn), up 6.9%, in February. The group continues to be buoyed by the performance of the Gucci brand in emerging markets.
