Clothing retailer Uniqlo and designer Jil Sander are to end their partnership after the release of a final collaborative collection under the Uniqlo +J banner.

The 2011 autumn and winter collection will end the tie-in which began in March 2009 with the slogan “Open the Future”, releasing its first collection in October that year.

A company statement from Uniqlo said: “With the recent completion of the design of the Uniqlo +J 2011 fall and winter collection, Ms Sander and Uniqlo agreed that they had fully explored the possibilities of their creative collaboration and accomplished what they had set out to do.

“Consequently, the two parties have decided to wrap up their design consulting agreement with this collection.”
