Japanese retail group Fast Retailing said that June 2007 same-store sales at its Uniqlo chain decreased by 1.3% year-on-year while sales at direct-run stores increased by 5.9%.

Total sales including direct sales rose by 6.5%.

Existing store sales dipped in June as the government's "Cool Biz" campaign, which encourages office workers to dress casually during the summer to cut down on air-conditioning costs, proved to be less popular this year, the company said.
