VF Corp, one of the world's largest apparel makers, is planning to launch more of its brands in India and increase its retail presence in the country, according to local media reports.

The US-based company, which last September set up a 60:40 joint venture with Arvind Brands - called VF Arvind Brands Private Ltd - already sells its Lee, Wrangler, Nautica, Kipling and Jansport labels in India.

But it is now evaluating opportunities for its value-priced Maverick brand and its premium denim wear brand 7 For All Mankind, as well as its fast-growing North Face outdoor apparel range.

Last week Kanchan Pant was named as the new managing director of the joint venture company, and Aidan O'Meara, president of VF Asia Pacific, has described India as one of "VF's biggest geographical growth opportunities."
