Dutch fashion company WE has launched its first two stores in China, with plans to open 200 shops in the country over the next five years.

The company's first Chinese stores, in Shanghai and Chongqing, were opened yesterday (20 January) and today, WE said.

"These collections [in the China stores] are very similar to what we offer in Europe," Wouter Kolk, CEO of WE Fashion, said. "However, the collections have been adapted to the Chinese market in terms of size range and seasonal influences. On average, the Chinese WE Stores are 15% larger than the average European WE flagship store. Therefore, the collections for China have been supplemented."
