US department store retailer Neiman Marcus has appointed Joseph Weber as senior vice president and chief human resources officer.

He will be responsible for all areas of human resources and loss prevention including staff relations, learning and development, recruitment, compensation, internal communications and benefits.

Weber, who has previously held various positions at the Bank of America Corp and electronics provider Dell, will join Neiman Marcus on 4 September.

Earlier this month, the retailer saw its fourth-quarter sales increase 9.3% to US$1.01bn due to strong gains in the company's online business. Comparable revenues climbed 7.9% to $991m.
