Workers of Croatian footwear Tvornica Djecje Obuce Zagreb, in which the Croatian privatisation fund Sunce holds a majority stake, have gone on strike over 2.4m kuna ($278,800) in unpaid wages for March, April and May 2001. In addition, the 275 workers demanded to be paid 2.5m kuna ($290,400), which were accumulated due to a difference between their fixed wages and what they were paid in 2000.
