The world's most expensive shoes - a pair of diamond-encrusted sandals - have gone on sale at London's Harrods department store with a £650,000 price tag.

The eye-catching shoes, which are woven from platinum thread, set with 464 diamonds in pure platinum, are a UK size five and were made by US designer Stuart Weitzman.

They debuted at the Oscars last month where they were worn by Mulholland Drive actress Laura Harring, but will now be guarded round-the-clock behind bullet-proof glass.
