UK: Zara Fast Fashion Workshop makes a return

By | 24 April 2006

The Industry Forum's ever-popular 'Zara Fast Fashion Workshop' returns to the UK next month, offering delegates the chance to gain an insight into Zara's ultra-fast supply chain cycle and learn for themselves how improve speed to market and responsiveness.

With quick response as its business ethos, international retailer Zara has left its competition way behind.

Acknowledged as the best practitioner in the fast fashion arena with the shortest lead times, Zara is enjoying a 20% net sales growth per year and one of the highest return visits per customer per month. Last year Zara opened 129 new stores, taking its worldwide total to 852.

Industry Forum's workshop aims to show how other retailers can follow Zara's example and keep today's unpredictable consumers satisfied.

The one-day event on 16 May is spearheaded by Industry Forum director Ken Watson and will include a look at Zara's business model, a consultant's view on implementing fast fashion, a city viewpoint on Inditex (Zara's parent company), a discussion on Best Practice - fast fashion from concept to customer, and a workshop on process mapping for speed.

The last workshop at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City in October 2005 was near to capacity, attracting representatives from the US' leading retailers and manufacturers.
