US: Zweave rolls out on-demand design, fit tools

By | 26 September 2007

New tools for design and product development have been launched by Zweave Inc as part of its on-demand product suite which is available by annual subscription.

Zdesign on-demand is aimed at creative and sourcing teams where it can help to reduce the cost and implementation time of traditional PLM or PDM software, particularly in small to medium-sized organisations.

Fit Studio organises fit information so that it can be accessed, shared, re-used and made available to members of a development team through a web based portal. The module integrates with OptiTex USA's 3D visualisation and 2D CAD tools.

"The whole idea behind Zweave's on-demand model is to provide apparel companies and their creative teams with what they want, how they want it, when they want it," explains Laura McCann, Zweave's founder and president.

"This model, called "Software as a Service" is new to the apparel industry and will change the way software products are sold and distributed," she adds.

Sectors: Apparel, Manufacturing, Technology

Companies: Zweave, OptiTex
