AUSTRALIA: Target, Kmart to use Core sourcing solution

Retailers Target Australia and Kmart Australia are seeking to streamline their global sourcing of private label merchandise by acquiring the CBX system offered by Core Solutions.

The global sourcing solutions provider believes the CBX PLM/Sourcing suite will help to shorten product development cycles, reduce end-to-end lead times, increase visibility and improve supplier management and operational efficiency.

The system, due to be implemented and to go live early next year, will be used primarily for the companies’ sourcing of products through Coles Group Asia, which provides most of their private label merchandise.

“The success of implementing the global sourcing system is crucial,” said Mike Glassel, MD of Coles Group Asia. “We wanted a system that offers a broad range of capabilities, but also wanted to be sure that these capabilities are proven in real life by other leading organisations.”
