La Perla selects PLM to improve speed to market

Italian luxury lingerie company La Perla has selected Centric Software's PLM solution in a bid to bring its products to market faster, strengthen its position in the industry and drive growth and profitability.

The move is part of a strategy by La Perla to reduce time to market and improve the company's "complex" product development processes.

Founded in 1954 by corset-maker Ada Masotti, La Perla has over 215 boutiques worldwide, offering lingerie, nightwear, beachwear and accessories. The company is Centric's 16th customer in Italy.

"Our product development process was long and time-consuming," says Miriam Gallio, COO of La Perla Group. "We want to leverage our ability to develop trend-right products and improve assortment plans by connecting merchandising, design and product development teams."

La Perla will use the full Centric 8 PLM suite including Centric's mobile apps in a bid to bring its products to the market faster and support its overall strategy to drive growth and profitability.

Centric recently developed a field testing mobile app designed to help apparel and footwear companies track the usage and performance of prototypes and samples.

The app, developed in Apple's iOS, works with Centric's PLM platform, or can be used as a stand-alone solution. Centric says the app provides an innovative solution for product performance feedback.
