Outdoor brand POC selects PLM to streamline operations

Swedish outdoor brand POC has invested in a new product lifecycle management (PLM) solution to help streamline and add flexibility to its operations.
The company has selected the Centric 8 PLM system from Centric Software to support its growth and replace its existing office tools.
"With our business expanding, we needed support to manage the complexity that comes with growth while still keeping us nimble," says Stefan Ytterborn CEO and founder of POC.
POC, which specialises in protective gear for gravity sports and cyclists, was previously working with standard office tools, including a lot of spreadsheets.
""As we expand our activities, we couldn't use spreadsheets anymore," adds Monica Lindström senior manager apparel. "We decided to look for a solution that would enable us to enhance visibility and transparency and take control over our supply chain from assortment planning to product development."
Founded in 2005 in the ski racing market, POC debuted with new products to improve safety by reducing the force transmitted to the brain and body in case of a crash. The company has since developed a reputation for gravity sports and cyclists' protection and is now established in 25 countries.
Centric recently developed a field testing mobile app designed to help apparel and footwear companies track the usage and performance of prototypes and samples. The app, developed in Apple's iOS, works with Centric's PLM platform, or can be used as a stand-alone solution.
