Heritage outdoor apparel brand Royal Robbins has invested in a new product lifecycle management (PLM) solution as part of the company's upgrade of its design, production and retail processes.

The company has selected Centric Software's PLM solution as it looks to support its product design and development team.

"Since vice president of merchandising and design, Liz Braund, and I joined the company last year, we have applied a proven brand building framework that has set us on an accelerated growth path," says Royal Robbins CEO, Michael Millenacker. "We want to support the strong product design and development team that we have built, and Centric is the right PLM to supercharge our processes."

In the first and second phases of implementation, Royal Robbins' older PDM system will be replaced with Centric 8 PLM and the company will continue to scale the software as its business develops.

Last month Centric announced it has developed a field testing mobile app designed to help apparel and footwear companies track the usage and performance of prototypes and samples.

The news came shortly after the company opened its first office in Japan, as part of its ongoing expansion into the Asian market.
