Gerber Technology has launched a new version of webPDM, the flagship component of its product lifecycle management (PLM) software suite.

The company says webPDM 6.0 functions as a globally-accessible, browser-based solution that allows users to organise information, create tech packs and effectively communicate with employees, customers, vendors and suppliers.

“With webPDM 6.0, we’ve added highly desirable features such as Linked Pages and Folders that allow for one time entry of specification information spread throughout multiple styles,” says Elizabeth King, director of software applications for Gerber Technology.

“Global participants can easily and effectively organise and create content, while taking advantage of enhanced functionality such as the BOM staging area promoting implementation and collaboration on the most important product components.”

The software integrates with other PLM modules including AccuMark, webView and webFolio.

Aimed at product managers, sourcing professionals, designers, merchandisers, vendors and executives, Gerber says the release has been driven by user feedback.
