VIETNAM: Gerber opens $1m advanced technology centre

Gerber Technology has opened an Advanced Technology Center (ATC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - thought to be the first of its kind in South East Asia.
The centre will also serve the needs of apparel and related industries in the neighbouring countries, including Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
Gerber, which supplies CAD/CAM and PLM solutions, already has around 200 customers in Vietnam.
The new $1m ATC will provide demonstrations of the company’s automated spreading systems, multi-ply cutting systems, as well as new plotting, digitising and computer-aided design applications.
There will also be product testing and training for customers, engineers, designers, and industry students.
