Varner turns to PLM for European expansion

Scandinavian fashion retailer Varner has selected Centric Software's product lifecycle management (PLM) software to help support its expansion across Europe.
The company operates 1,500 stores across Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Poland, Germany and Austria, with 80% of its revenue coming from its private label brands and concepts such as Dressmann, Cubus and Bik Bok.
Varner also owns Volt, which includes licensing for J Lindeberg, Diesel and private label for These Glory Days as well as the jeans concept retailer Carlings, Levi's Stores Scandinavia, and Nike Retail Stores Scandinavia.
Varner and its suppliers will use the complete Centric 8 PLM suite, including Centric's mobile apps for PLM, to support its fast-paced expansion across Europe. In addition, it will use the platform to help improve assortment by geography and concept.
The software "will allow us to better align development, planning and sourcing across our organisation," says Ole Martin Holt-Jacobsen, head of business applications at Varner. "It will also provide better data visibility to help us create quality products and control margins to keep our competitive advantage on the market."
