The departure of Topshop’s brand director Jane Shepherdson caps a bad week for Sir Philip Green – who has had to face up to a 54% plunge in operating profits at his Bhs chain. The two are keen to stress that Shepherdson’s departure has nothing to do with the recent hiring of Kate Moss, but coming so soon after this deal was announced it’s hard not to jump to conclusions.
