State-of-the-art technology used to carry out aerodynamic and fluidity research on projects ranging from gas turbines to Formula 1 teams has for the first time made its way into the footwear sector. UK-based shoe firm Clarks has spent the last few years bringing its shoe styles up to date, and has now turned to simulation software to improve the design of its Active Air range, which it plans to launch for spring/summer 2003.
