130 workers at boys' clothing-maker JA Besner and Sons are to lose their jobs early next year with the closure of the St. Jean sur Richelieu plant.

Last week, about 800 workers at two textile factories in Huntingdon - Cleyn & Tinker and Huntingdon Mills - were told they will be losing their jobs by the spring.

All three companies say their decisions are due to the lifting of quotas on low-cost textile imports into Canada, and the rise this year of the Canadian dollar.
