The new machinery, IT and fabric event being launched in April 2004 by the American Apparel and Footwear Association and Urban Expositions, has been named One World.

The triennial exhibition will be branded under the heading Sewn World, which joins with the existing Material World event and the new information technology show IT World, which will debut in spring 2003.

On display at One World will be a range of global solutions for the sewn products industry including machinery and equipment, information technology and fabric/findings.

“One World provides our members with a platform of services and programs that unify our industry, promote best practices and leverage business opportunities,” states Kevin M Burke, president and CEO of AAFA.

“Sourcing executives, supplier companies and contractors will come together under one roof to explore the latest solutions in equipment, technology, logistics, and finance available to the sewn products industries.

In recent discussions with major apparel trade associations in Central America and the Caribbean, we received strong and enthusiastic support for Material World and for the new triennial event in April 2004.”

This new event will be presented sequentially, in the spring of every third year, between Germany (2003) and Japan (2005). It kicks off on 14-16 April 2004 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
