Youth-oriented clothing chain Abercrombie & Fitch on Tuesday said its CFO Wesley McDonald had quit to take up an identical position at fast-growing apparel and footwear retailer Kohl's Corp.

The Ohio-based operator of 615 stores said in a short statement it had initiated a search for a replacement for the 41-year-old and in the interim COO Seth Johnson would assume McDonald's duties.

Wisconsin-based Kohl's, which runs almost 500 stores, said in a news release McDonald will oversee all its financial accounting and planning, tax, treasury and investor relations and will report to COO Arlene Meier.

Chairman and CEO, Larry Montgomery, said: "Wes brings strong management skills and a solid track record in the retail industry. His direct involvement with the financial community and his knowledge of retail operations are a great match for the strong team we already have in place."
