Retail group Actif has appointed Michael Conitzer as a non-executive director of its board and has also predicted increased losses for full-year trading.

Conitzer was appointed on behalf of Hatzioannou Holdings, which holds 10.6% of Actif.

Conitzer has more than 35 years of experience in the apparel sector and is presently chief executive of sportswear retailer King's Road Sporting.

Actif also said it expects wider losses for full-year trading because of weak demand in both retail and wholesale.

The company said it had experienced some positive reaction to range enhancements, however.
