Adidas says the apparel collection is the first of its kind

German sportswear giant Adidas has launched what it claims to be a first of its kind athletic apparel line for teenagers.

The Adigirl collection features clothing for five sports - basketball, volleyball, track, softball and soccer - including a 3-stripe bra and woven fleece jacket. Highlights include windbreakers with slit-open, centre back seams, which offer cooling ventilation.

With Climacool and Climalite performance attributes, the range offers the wearer breathable, lightweight comfort, Adidas says.

"Adigirl was created to specifically meet the needs of the female teen athlete and provides her with versatile options that can be worn for more than just practice," says Katie Becker, senior design director for Adidas training and sportswear.

With prices ranging from US$25-90, the collection is available online and at both Adidas sport performance stores and Dick's Sporting Goods stores across the US.
