Fashion retailer Elvi is the latest UK high street retailer to fall into administration, hot on the heals of Dolcis and Base Menswear.

The UK plus-size clothing firm made the announcement on its website, having gone into administration last Thursday (7 February).

L R Bailey, L Cooper and S Bower of Baker Tilly Restructuring and Recovery LLP were appointed as administrators of Elvi Limited, Elvi Holdings Limited and Elvi Investments Limited collectively.

The company sells plus-size ladies apparel, in sizes 16 to 26, through 27 shops nationally and over 60 concessions within stores including Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis.

It follows news last month that footwear retailer Dolcis had gone into administration, along with shoe chain Stead & Simpson - since snapped up by Shoe Zone.

Meanwhile, clothing retail group Granditer Menswear Limited, which trades as Base, also went into administration last week after struggling in a volatile UK trading environment.
