Roger Markfield, president of Casual clothing company American Eagle Outfitters Inc, has signed a deal to serve as an advisor to the company until 2012.

Markfield will continue to serve as president of the company until 2005 and as vice chairman of the board until 2006.

As advisor, Markfield will concentrate on the development of the company's new retail concept and strategic growth initiatives, as well as advise the American Eagle brand.

The company also announced that Susan McGalla, executive vice president of merchandising, has been promoted to president of the American Eagle brand, in which she will be directly responsible for design, merchandising and marketing functions.

American Eagle Outfitters is a leading lifestyle retailer that designs, markets, and sells its own brand of relaxed, casual clothing for 15 to 25 year olds.
