Casual clothing company American Eagle Outfitters Inc says it plans to launch a new concept next year aimed at driving expansion.

The company aims to open between five and six stores in July 2005 as part of the strategy, which was revealed to investors at a Goldman Sachs conference in New York yesterday.

The new concept will be mall-based and will concentrate on apparel and accessories. American Eagle is due to unveil the concept's name and other additional information next month.
