American Resources and Development Company's (OTC Bulletin Board: ADCO) Portland-based screenprinting subsidiary, Pacific Print Works, has contracted with a significant customer to print NBA Western Conference and Championship Final T-shirts for the Portland Trailblazers. The printing is contingent on the Trailblazers winning the Conference and Championship finals and is referred to as "hot market" business in the industry.

Demand for hot market product can be huge and has a significant impact on Company revenue and profits. However, as the majority of this demand normally occurs immediately proceeding the event, production must be accomplished within a 24-to-72 hour period of time thereafter and can place a significant strain on the Company's operations. Per Jeff Harden, Pacific Print Works President, "We appreciate the challenge of the hot market business and feel that it allows the strength of our production people to really shine. We obviously would love to see the Blazers win tonight's game and continue advancing to the NBA Championship for more reasons than one."

ARDCO also reports that Pacific Print Works continues to experience strong revenue growth. During PPW's fiscal fourth quarter (FYE 3/31/00) it generated $1,315,000 in revenue compared to $995,000 for the same period of the prior year, a 32% increase. PPW was also profitable during its third and fourth quarters and management is pleased with the improved performance. According to Will Papenfuss, ARDCO president, "We have every expectation the strong sales growth and profits we are experiencing at Pacific Print Works will continue based on the strength of our prominent national customer base and the new business being brought in."

American Resources is an investment holding company that specializes in select consumer products. Pacific Print Works, one of ARDCO's core holdings, produces leading-edge screenprinted apparel for corporate accounts, employing over 100 people at its Portland-based operation. Another key holding is Fan-Tastic, Inc., owner of Fan-A-Mania, a franchise chain of retail specialty stores selling licensed entertainment and sports apparel and collectibles.
