Women's fashion retailer Ann Taylor Stores Corporation has selected UK retail technology provider Torex Retail Plc to implement its Compass merchandise planning solution.

Ann Taylor will utilise the Assortment Planning facility from Torex Retail's solution, including three additional modules covering Merchandise Planning, Store Planning and Allocation.

Torex Retail is working closely with Ann Taylor to enhance the current solution and collaborate on additional functionality.

Debra Berit, executive vice president of planning and allocation at Ann Taylor, said: "We believe their Assortment Planning tool will drive our customer-centric strategies to new levels and support a more fully integrated planning process".

The deal was secured by Compass Software, now a division of Torex Retail following the purchase of Alphameric Retail in November 2004.

Torex Retail's customer base includes Dots, Tesco, Dixons Store Group, Marks & Spencer, Esprit and Montblanc.

Ann Taylor is one of the US's leading women's specialty retailers, operating 743 stores in 45 states, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
