Women's fashion retailer AnnTaylor Stores Corp yesterday posted a 2.7 per cent dip in April same-store sales as its monthly results were affected by an early Easter.

The New York-based company, operator of the Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft stores, said total sales for April rose 9.3 per cent to $124.9 million from $114.2m in the year-ago period.

It added that total sales for the first quarter climbed 12.5 per cent to $345.4m from $307.1m and increased its first-quarter earnings forecast to 67 cents per share, prior to a stock split. It also warned it expects second quarter same-store sales to be flat.
