The Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade said it is continuing a campaign against shoe firm Kurt Geiger because it won't commit to stopping the sale of real fur.

Geiger, which the coalition said has been selling 'Mukluk' boots made entirely from skinned rabbits in the UK, has now taken fur off its shelves but is unwilling to give a pledge not to sell it again.

"The company has tried to justify this inexcusable behaviour by perpetuating the myth that the fur comes from rabbits bred for the meat industry and as such are a waste product," said the coalition, which called the claim "an outright lie".

The fur from rabbits bred for the meat industry is not deemed good enough to use for clothing and footwear products, the coalition says.
