Dozens of stone-throwing youths have attacked a Nike store in Calcutta in protest at the US-led war on Iraq.

Police said up to 50 communist activists gathered outside the outlet and hurled stones while calling for a boycott of Nike footwear and other products made and sold by US and UK companies.

Officers said no-one was hurt and no arrests made during Wednesday’s incident which follows a series of anti-war protests in the capital of West Bengal state.
