Business analytics company Appian Analytics Inc has signed an agreement with clothing giant Gap Inc to provide business analytics and reporting services for monitoring performance across Gap brands in the US.

Appian will be monitoring all Gap Inc brands, including Old Navy and Banana Republic, in addition to The Gap, and Gap brand Outlet Stores.

Tammy Ma, director at Appian Analytics in the retail analytics group, said: "Performance metrics include a wide range of interrelated factors such as merchandising and demand trends, inventory levels, customer perceptions and behaviour, and store financial performance".

By leveraging the library of software for automating analytics, data processing, and graphical report production, Appian Analytics claims to provide efficient, timely, cost-effective, and high-quality results.
