Lithuania's biggest clothing retailer, Apranga, recorded sales of 71.9 million litas in the three Baltic states for the first half of 2004 - an increase of 30 per cent over last year's sales.

August sales reached 13 million litas - 58.3 per cent more than sales last year.

First-half pre-tax profit was 1.02m litas.

Managing director, Rimantas Perveneckas said: "Sales in August reflect the ambitious agenda of expansion of the network and boost in turnover."
