Clothing retail giant Arcadia Group Plc on Thursday posted a huge 59.5 per cent leap in half-year profits amid a strong surge in sales at its hundreds of stores. The company, which owns several high street chains including Top Shop, Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Evans, Wallis and Miss Selfridge, said its interim profits, before one-off costs, soared to £57.9 million from £36.3m in the year-ago period.
