Apparel manufacturer Arvind Mills Ltd has posted a lower consolidated net profit of INR800 million for the year to March 31, down from INR988m in the previous fiscal year.

The Indian company also reported a fall in net sales to INR15.66 billion for the year, down from INR18.07bn in the prior 12-month period.

According to chief financial officer Jayesh Shah, a drop in denim volumes and the higher prices of cotton and naphtha adversely affected the company's full-year performance.
