Online fashion retailer Asos continued its relentless revenue surge with a 63% rise in first quarter revenues, led by a 160% increase in sales from its international operations.

International sales now account for 57% of the UK-based company’s retail sales mix, thanks to a 151% increase in US sales, plus an 80% rise in EU revenues and a 353% surge in sales from the rest of the world.

Asos said its retail gross margin remained in line with its guidance, adding that its warehouse transition had been completed on budget and ahead of schedule.

Hailing a “strong first quarter performance”, company CEO Nick Robertson said: “The new financial year has started well and we remain positive in our outlook for 2012, with progress to date in line with expectations.”
