High-street clothing retailer Austin Reed has reported disappointing results for the first half of the year, posting a loss of £1.1 million for the six months ended 13 August.

The result, however, was a slight improvement on the loss of £2.8m the company recorded in the first half of last year.

Austin Reed's rebranded CC division - previously known as Country Casuals - suffered a 15 per cent plummet in same-store sales. The company admitted certain areas of the unit still need improving.
