An Australian surfwear company looks set to be expanding its market.

Billabong International says it is looking at moving into skateboard clothing. This follows hot of the heels of its latest expansion into sunglasses and snow goggles.

A company spokesman said: "If we can achieve the type of growth we're aiming for internally, we'll have to look during the 12 or 18 months at a range of capital management and debt positioning issues."

Billabong say they say they are continue to focus on North America and Europe as well as consistent growth in Australia.

But they are ruling out sports footwear which they say is very competitive and will remain "on the backburner" until there is less momentum in the marketplace.
