Retailer Candie's Inc has signed a licensing deal with manufacturer and designer Benco International for adults' and children's jeanswear and tops under the Bongo label.

According to the terms of the agreement, the lines will be distributed in Mexico, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil and Jamaica.

Candie's has embarked on a growth strategy for Bongo in the last few months, signing a succession of new license deals aimed at building Bongo into a complete lifestyle brand.

Neil Cole, chairman and chief executive officer of Candie's Inc said that the agreement marked the beginning of the company's global expansion.

Ofer Benzion, Benco's president said: "Bongo is one of the most sought-after brands in the US and we are very excited that we have been selected for this exclusive opportunity."

The company has also signed a license deal with Amiee Lynn Inc for junior belts and jewellery under the Bongo name.
