Fashion group Benetton has suffered third-quarter and nine-month profit decreases, but has upped its sales prediction for full-year trading.

Benetton reported third-quarter profit of €27 million compared to €34m last year, while revenue totalled €446m compared to €392m a year ago.

Nine-month net profit slipped to €89m from €104m last year, while nine-month sales grew to €1.3 billion from €1.3bn a year ago.

The company expects full-year earnings before interest and taxes to be about 10 per cent of sales. This compares to a previous forecast of earnings of between 9.5 per cent and 10 per cent.

Full-year revenue is now predicted to be €1.7bn compared with the previously predicted €1.6bn-€1.7bn.
