The Beximco Group announced today the opening of its US sales headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Lisle M. Budden will be heading up US operations as managing director of the Americas.

Beximco America is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Beximco Group, the largest industrial conglomerate in Bangladesh, which employs nearly 22,000 people and recorded sales of over $850m in 2000. Beximco Textiles produces 5,000 tons of Knit fabric, 10 million yards of Denim and 35 million yards of woven fabrics annually.

Beximco is a leading supplier of fabric and finished garments to prestigious buyers such as DKNY, Hugo Boss, Levi's, Zara, Phillip Van Heusen, JC Penney, Target, The Gap and others in both Europe and the US with an in-house manufacturing capability of 30 million units a year.

"The textile world is Bangladesh's oyster. The pearl is very much in reach and we've made a decision to go for it," said Naved Husain, CEO of the Beximco Group. "Thus our decision to establish a US presence. It's a logical addition to our totally integrated facility that offers world class garment packages to the world renowned brands where quality matters the most."

"The Dallas-Fort Worth area is a good central location to service the needs of all Beximco's US customers," adds Budden. "With customers on both coasts as well as the midwest, it's an ideal spot for our American offices."

As a previous owner of two different companies, Budden brings over 25 years of international garment industry sales and management experience to his position at BeximcoAmerica.
