Clothing retailer Beymen has opened a US$4.5 million, seven-storey megastore in Istanbul's Nisantasi district, Turkish News Digest has reported.

The new outlet, designed by architect Tayfun Mumcu, spans 3500 square metres of floor space and contains an Erdem Kiramer hair salon, Bang & Olufsen technology unit and even a restaurant.

It will also sell fashion lines from Beymen, Dolce & Gabbana and, for the first time in Turkey, Prada.

According to the managing director of Beymen parent company Boyner Holding, Serdar Sunay, the outlet differs from the standard fashion store concept and is the result of two decades' planning.

About 1200 people are expected to visit the store each day.
