Footwear manufacturer Biti's has announced plans to increase exports into China through its recently opened branch in the northern province of Lao Cai.

At the opening ceremony for the new branch Le Phung Hao, deputy director general for the Ho Chi Minh City based company, said that his company were hoping to make Biti's a popular brand in China.

Last year, the old factory in Lao Cai reported revenues of VN$87bn, a substantial rise from the VN$4bn recorded back in 1996. The company claims that the increase in revenues is largely due to 90 per cent of its sales being from China.

The company may now look to establish a factory in China if sales reach the VN$100bn mark in Lao Cai.
